So my leaky oring on the front cooler header was getting worse.
Do not use the orings in the gasket sets that are black. They arent very heat resistant
So after unbolting the filter header the cooler FELL OFF! no tension left at all.
Anyway, cleaned scraped installed new orings and rear gasket, pushed it all together with some extra hands from my buddy , whos shop and lift I was using:D, walla, good to go.

Put in new Zerex GO5 coolant, fresh rotella, filter, greased the whole shebang and she is happy again.

I was pissed about the orings but in checking my book I have 60k on this engine.
Damn I now know why I need some of my own injectors.LOL

Also the rear ujoint is loose again, spicer, 5k on it, new shaft and yoke.
Any thoughts as to if the torque is eating them.:dunno

Dude-
you're like making way too much torque down low. something has to give.
maybe your driveshaft guy needs to make one of those fancy alu jobs for you or find some material that's a little springy-er. right now you have all ballz and no give all the way from the motor to the yoke. The yoke will be the weak point for the time being.
Or......you can do it like what my truck is set up for, I paint a stripe down the center of the shaft and check for twisting in my when you lube the U-joints.

Now that's a good idea and when it's twisted enough you can make a nice Christmas decoration like a giant candy cane:rotflmao

Really though it's a great idea!

You could be like RL and get an expensive custom made driveshaft that can take more power. Apparently Dave S has this problem too. Too much power for the u-joints.

Make sure your pinion angle is correct. Not enough angle will wear on 1 or 2 rollers the whole time. Too much is also a problem.

Are your 2 driveshaft parts phased correctly?

I used a brute strenth u-joint from Advance Auto and I am getting good results on my 90 f250.

Dave twists driveshafts like pretzels, must be some U-joints to actually survive such carnage...

I've always wondered what's up with that. I guess he's still running the stock driveshaft, of course some of the medium duty and big trucks are making 500+ HP, so there out to exist a driveshaft/ujoints that can take it, problem is not the one that bolts to the T19 and the 10.25 rear end, they'll always be a weak link. Russ might have the same problem with the ZF5.

All that is good, it is only the rear one at this time. Always in the heavy rain around here, and I do nave some miles on it.

I bought international orings and they were all black? 2 sets of them and they are identical. I have new ones here in the package and will be rebuilding the second cooler I have.

As far as the ujoints do you have a manual trans? It seems like its alot easier to put torque out with it than the auto. I put brand new ones in last year and they went out but they were cheap and the driveshaft had some problems. Whats weird is the factory ones that I didn't replace were fine. I just put in a complete used driveshaft out of a 93 and if the joints go bad I will probably get the spicer ones like you did or something comparable.

I put new U Joints in when I bought the truck -the old ones were OK but I was getting it ready for the road. They are still tight and fine. I think short run usage may be ******* them as the heat & cool.Possibly sucking water in.:dunno
I grease the joints often so the grease doesn't harden and stop even distribution of the lubricant.

Ive never replaced a rear u joint since I bought the truck 5 years ago. Ive had them apart to grease when I pulled the tranny a few time, but they have never given me any problems. I did put new ones on the front thought because they were pretty worn.
