It would be very hard to put a CAT pump on an IDI...it can be done...but a TON of work.

I am mailing a pensacola turbo pump out tommorow to get MOOSED and cannot wait to get it on!

Probably a 3208 pump would be just a lot of black smoke at some point, just like the DPS the Moose and all other hot IPs for these trucks. Would be better with an IC or water injection and better still with a turbo that can operate efficiently above 12-15 psi. But at that point you have to start worrying about head gaskets and maybe even internals.

I was having a conversation today with my brother. Why the Moose pump or why not the Moose pump? Could the stock pump be turned up? What will the Moose pump accomplish? We are in the middle of figuring out what we what to do before the end of the year (taxes) as far as getting our 86 to run at the top of its game. I need a little education on this part along with the moose injectors. I would appreciate input.

You could read the original threads on the Moose and baby Moose pumps, but here is the "cliff Notes" version:

The rebuilds offered as Moose pumps have been carried out with a higher degree of attention to detail than standard IPs. The baby Moose follows the standard, or original fuel calibration, but with greater precision. The "Moose" pumps carries its own calibration for more fuel.

if you want more fuel then the stock pump will give you get a moose pump i believe they have a better advance cure as well. moose misters are the only performance injectors out there that arnt crap. i would just pm agnem and ask.
