I thought he was also in the process of relocating his whole shop to another state.

He moved to (South?) Carolina from Pennsylvania. If Mel was to retire, I hope that he would make the announcement on here. Either place would be a good one to buy from.

I'm in the market as well. Reached out to CCD, R&D, and Moose Diesel/Conestoga. CCD never responded through their website, nor on here from an IM I sent Wes. Suzi from Moose is on board, and immediately responded about my inquiry; I haven't ordered yet, as I wanted to make sure it was still "Conestoga". I read a post on here somewhere where Mel confirmed Moose Diesel was the new Conestoga, but no actual response from Mel in an IM.

Justin over at R&D is simply swamped with orders, and told me to call back in a few weeks. One thing I like about Justin is he's quick to answer the phone, and has been a big help in general.

Right now, looks like I'll be going with the Moose Junior from Moose Diesel.

I think that all three are pretty swamped. Have you tried Russ? I don't know if he does bigger IPs or not.

My problem I think is a very slow air intrusion; once the
