Ive never heard of winter diesel I better do some google search and see if it’s a thing down south in Tasmania,

Yeah I found it on google, some places sell it while most just sell the additive you can add if your visiting a region that may experience temps that low,

Jesus Freak, I got on my travel back machine to get ya a new IDI, but had a glitch in the transfluctor kept throwing a belt. This is the best I could do.

I'd like to add my two cents for the oil; engine oil is designed to keep dirt and contaminants in suspension, Ie floating.
So I'm not sure if it (as before mentioned) depositioned contamination at the lowest point of the IP?

Further, I'm not sure either if only soot is abrasive, I think that many engines might leave very small shavings or so from bearing wear in the oil?
or what if you have oil from a seized engine in your collection?

And yes, that article from Mel, I look forward to read that!
