I already run a blend of wmo in my rear tank and diesel in my front tank. My dad thought that I could use vegetable oil and proceeded to collect about 3 gallons from his friends neighbor. Can I add it to either the diesel or wmo tank? Obviously I would filter it first and stuff, but I'm wondering if it will mix.

I process all my vegetable oil with chicken, fish, and potatoes.....I'm too grubby to share it with my truck.

And I've heard so much about it jelling that I'm paranoid about it being in my very expensive injection pump.

Ever thought about moving out of Ca? Although outbound lanes may be backed up from what I have heard.

I believe it blends better when heated. May have to study what the powerstroke guys do - I believe an arrangement of starting and stopping on diesel and swinging over to heated veggie on the fly.

Plain vegetable oil will eventuality cause Coking of the Injectors and other areas.
Best to research all of this first before you run a lot of it.

So.....here's the thing.....
With all the surplus Soybeans from this China trade debacle, all the just fallow empty weed lot land in places that grow without irrigation (Florida, etc) why is nothing being done to increase our Biodiesel production? For one, although I have total sympathy for the Soy farmers this year, I feel we've all been getting reamed on the price of Soy and anything it's used in because we're competing with the CCP for our own resource.
All this rhetoric about carbon credits, etc, etc, etc, etc. and plants are a natural carbon sink in the first place. The "acid rain ruining our lakes" deal has been debunked so that sort of pulls the rug on the NOX business (remember corrupt Granatelli and the CA government in bed together on the STP Device, Grancor?).
This whole Diesel fuel supply chain is a big house of cards manipulated by greedy Diabolical Narcissists and I'm really angry about it. Rudolf Diesel developed this engine to run on vegetable oils. Meanwhile, all the seed oils that should be going in our tanks are going in our food and compromising our dietary needs. Crisco is cotton seed oil that was not even considered a food grade substance until the hydrogenation process gained traction.
I do know this....if everyone else has trouble getting fuel at the pump, I'm going to Restraunt Supply and buying whatever oil I can get and worry about the coking later.

You can make biodiesel out of it. Too much trouble though, unless you have a steady supply. As u2slow said though, heat it. If you get it about 180 degrees you can run it straight. But don't shut down with it in the lines.
I used to make biodiesel and run it in a 1st gen Cummins. I've also run WVO with about 5% gasoline added, in a 271 Detroit.

The only denizons of the P.R.K. that haven't ' are sno flake dema commies.
But pre smog and alternative fuel are 2 separate discussions, the veggie conversion fad died off quicker than....
Never mind.

Why not do the start stop on #2 and run waste/alternative in the middle?

Show me a Canola plant and I'll eat it. Vegetable oils really don't need to be consumed by anyone when there are much better alternatives.

So true.
My Wife only uses Coconut oil in her cooking.
How ever, she only uses Canola Oil, and one cup, when she makes her Cherry Wine Cake.
Start with a Yellow Cake mix, then add one cup of Cherry Wine...How ever, it is so much
better with one cup of "Irish Cream".
There is a YT Video of Vegetable oils and when they were introduced into our food supply,
very interesting vid.

I have read over and over that "Rudolf Diesel developed this engine to run on vegetable oil".
From what I have read, back in the day the development of the Diesel engine, Germany used
a lot of Coal for heating etc... and there was piles of Coal Dust.
Originally he was trying to develop an Engine to run on Coal Dust which didn,t work.
I do remember the engine blew up and almost killed him.
He did disappear on a cruise across the English Channel, did he commit suicide, or was he
helped? That is a controversary.

OK, now back to our regular scheduled program.

Note: Just did a search on how Canola Oil is made. Read the Comments below the Vid.
Chemical Wash? OH Gross.
