Yours must've had problems.
The n/a 6.2 I put in my 79 chevy c30 was getting great mileage.
That was with a 4 speed and 3.73 gears.

loaded mpg of both, pulling around 6-10k was 11-12. unloaded 454 will do 14.5 on the highway with OD. 6.5 was 16mpg on the highway with th400. So I moved up to a cheaper to maintain, and more dependable set up. I did not expect the mpg to be much over 11?

Eh, i guess every vehicle is different, just should've been a little better than the 454. Lol
Mine was closer to 18 empty.

before number 6 700r4 died highway mpg was 20-21. The th400 was stupid dependable, but sure killed the mpg. Winter mpg average dropped to 12!

I would keep it fuel injected. Black dawg , what would you give me for it ? :) im seriously over it. I would only be putting the 454 in it to sell it as a whole. But if you want it as is ... :) it has a brand new trans from calvin and brand new moose junior pump.Russ just resealed the turbo.

My offer would be a kick in the nuts, you have way more in that injection pump than I have ever paid for a running driving suburban before. If you really do want to sell as is, shoot me a price (pm?) I do understand that those parts do have value.

Haha , I think Ill pass. I was planning on freshening it up and keeping it which is why I put so much in to it. I think I'll just toss the 454 in and sell it , and sell the pump seperately. I dont know ...

Around here, suburbans are worth very little, seems like alot of work that you will never get paid for? Being a 91 (4l80) and turbo diesel, put a stupid price on craigslist and see what happens. You never know?

They arent worth much here either. It is hard to find a 3/4 in my area though so they go for more , and it is a hard to find combo so I felt a little better about putting the money in to it. But like I said I was planning to keep it. Hind sight sucks.

I think they started using that intake in 92, I wonder if it is really a th400 behind it, even if it isnt, that ecm and harness might have been 454/4l80. I am sure you could leave the 4l80 controller you have now and get signals from the sensors on the 454, but it could be a cluster, and the correct ecm and wiring harness would be super clean and easy.

that poor blazer is a mess!

OR... I could swap a 454 in and run it off lpg. The fuel price difference would make it seem like it was getting more mpg .. :)
