Mel, I'm pretty sure I did actually post something on the BOOB forum...but I can't find the post I made. I'm guessing that it got lost in that massive attack...

Its was there. really. But just about anything posted in '05 got wiped out. you think BOOB got hit bad, the destruction to tow411 is worse. how ezboard handles this will be very interesting.

No excuses for not updating this. I conducted a recon of campground at Big Bear CA. Serrano is nice. The others are way off in the mountains and probably won't work with people coming from all over the place. The deal with Serrano is there is no Group Site - we would all have to get on-line and make reservations individually. This is not necessarily bad since it protects the organizer from getting stiffed on the campground fee (something I know happened at at least one west coast event). Right now the first weekend of August is best for me. Let me call Scotty and I'll get back with everyone tomorrow. I'll post something on the boob site as soon as we have something locked in. I'll be leaving foe Thailand for three weeks this Wednesday so I'm going to have to lean on Scotty to help get this together. Don't expect anything elaborate - just an opportunity for some of us hardcore IDI lovers to get together and BS.

I'm out for the Aug. date. I will be in Socal for my daughter's first disneyland experience. I hope I survive it. Since the rest on my family and relatives will be witnessing my torture, I don't think they will be ready for an IDI get-together. Perhaps next year for me.

I haven't made much headway in finding a location - seems everything is pretty much booked up through the summer. I'm free the first and last weekends of August - otherwise I'm in the field with training units.
I'll be out of the country for the next three weeks so I'm leaving this with Scotty (beretz). Hopefully he'll have better luck than I... I'll continue to monitor,when I can, the thread while I gone.

Has a date been set?
If not, while nothing's set in stone yet, it's looking like I'll be in southern California on the weekend of August 13th (actually, it'll be the 7th through the 17th, but that's the only full weekend therein). So, if no one else has a preference, I'd like to cast a vote for that weekend (and hope that my plans don't change; I'm also depending on a friend of mine's work schedule).

Any chances of a central CA event? I'd like to attend but can't travel too far due to academic responsibilities... not sure of this quarter's exam schedule yet, either.
