My local Stanadyne dealer/builder quotes $1800 for a pump overhaul. How do the other companies, Moose, R&D come in so low on there pump prices? How do I know if the quality is there? Fixing to order a pump and injectors..
Thanks
Paul

Just guesses here. 1 your Stanadyne dealer probably doesn't see too many of our pumps these days, but the others do. 2 maybe it's because you're in Alaska so parts and supplies cost more there.
The others are good quality and have many happy customers on here.

Hi in the Cascades, Nearly- Redmond,Oregon
$1800.....WOW!!!!
For that it really better be good!!!!
Try CDD or R&D or Moose & maybe others here got other rebuilders they recommend. Even with shipping seems like $1800 should be beat!~
Good luck!

..........(((((((I'm just reminiscing here a bit about the good 'ol days, but back in the early to later 1990's I made many many trips back & forth from Oregon to Texas. My '90 CCLB Dually truck was getting 18-22 MPG pulling an empty trailer, not hot-rodding, just running 60-75 across country.
At about 100-120,000 miles it would be down to about 15-18 MPG. I knew it was time to pull pump & injectors for rebuild.
I had a place in Dallas, Tx on Regal Row I'd stop at, pull pump & injectors myself, & let them rebuild them. Depending on what all they had to do, usually the cost ran about $180-$300.....
Sighhhh.......Ah, the GOOD 'OL DAYS!!!!! ............)))))
