I have a 1990 D250 (see sig). I noticed it was leaking diesel a few days ago and popped the hood to have a look. It is leaking fuel at the front of the injection pump near the top. There is a tube that goes from the fuel shut off solenoid to the top of the pump near the front. The fuel seems to be leaking from that area but there is no fuel on the tube , it's not wet. The area on top of the pump and below the tube is wet with fuel. What is there in this area that may leak? It also leaks while parked and not running. Just not as much. I am still getting about 22 MPG (down from 23.5) so it's not leaking much.

bump!!

Yes, It's been 9 months and it's still leaking. I don't have a warm fuzzy feeling about removing the injection pump before researching and gathering information. Any ideas what part of the pump might be leaking? Are there any special steps to take if I remove the injection pump. Will removal and installation of the pump affect the timing?
