Some other seals that could be compromised at +150psi.86 Ford 7.3 cold start checking oil pressure.mp4
drive.google.comI can see that the oil cooler and the oil filter would be under high pressure with this situation but I don't know of any other seals that would be under this kind of pressure. help me with this i'm no expert.86 7.3 oil pressure warmed up.mp4

Boy I hope not!i haven't even run 5 gallons of gas through yet.
Just keep an eye on that oil pressure, if it returns to 150 psi I would shut it down and pull the oil cooler. Likely the relief valve was stuck closed or the bleed off area was clogged. Now that it seems to have worked itself out perhaps your good to go.i'm thinking i will start this thing ....Just let it idle for 1/2 an hour or so. maybe that will clear something up. i haven't even run 5 gallons of gas through yet.
Yeah I was wondering why the Pistons were melting so I changed it over to dieselBoy I hope not!
One thing that may help would be to run something like Auto Rx or Marvel Mystery Oil in your oil while you're idling the engine. That may help to free it up.
Yes I have changed the oil twice and I did use a new oil filter thank you.Just keep an eye on that oil pressure, if it returns to 150 psi I would shut it down and pull the oil cooler. Guessing you put on a new filter, but you may want to change the oil in case it has issues.
but on the gasket face in the 3rd and 2nd phone its show. Just don't know what that means.I cant find the photo I took when I took mine apart, but on the gasket face in the 3rd and 2nd phone its show. Its the round insurt with the four stamped points, it looks all wrong. I think I took a chisel around the edge to cut the stamping so the insurt can come out.
It means that your 2nd and 3rd pictures show it. It's the round thing surrounded by four dimple marks. The end shown in these pictures sure looks like there's some crud built up on it. That may be what caused it to stick.
Got the cooler back out and cleaned up the pressure relife, it was stuck and should had payed attention to this before reassembly.
You must be registered for see images attach
No. You should never see 150 PSI oil pressure. At that pressure, I'm surprised that the filter itself didn't give out.is it possible that because the pick up point for oil pressure is off the block near the oil pump that makes a higher reading at cold start?
