Boy I hope not!;Poke
One thing that may help would be to run something like Auto Rx or Marvel Mystery Oil in your oil while you're idling the engine. That may help to free it up.

Just keep an eye on that oil pressure, if it returns to 150 psi I would shut it down and pull the oil cooler. Likely the relief valve was stuck closed or the bleed off area was clogged. Now that it seems to have worked itself out perhaps your good to go.

Guessing you put on a new filter, but you may want to change the oil in case it has issues.

So now I've decided to go ahead and pull the oil cooler got the backside off that's easy. I'm not sure where the relief valve is supposed to be on this oil cooler or if it's in the block?

OK so I found the oil pressure release valve at the top of where is the filter would attach, I can push it open with my pinky it doesn't seem to be stuck at all. Everything seems to be pretty clean not sure where to go from here.

I cant find the photo I took when I took mine apart, but on the gasket face in the 3rd and 2nd phone its show. Its the round insurt with the four stamped points, it looks all wrong. I think I took a chisel around the edge to cut the stamping so the insurt can come out.

OK so I found the oil pressure release valve by the threads for the oil filter to thread on, I can push it open with my pinky it doesn't seem to be stuck at all. Everything seems to be pretty clean not sure where to go from here. still have the 150lbs of oil pressure at cold start.
question: is it possible that because the pick up point for oil pressure is off the block near the oil pump that makes a higher reading at cold start? You can see I'm digging for something to solve this mystery. I just don't wanna drive the truck like this.

The oil pressure regulator is a slide in a sleeve on these. When there is issues it would be best to pull it out the cooler header for inspection. If all this is good the only other thing left would be its drain in the block to pan.

Got the cooler back out and cleaned up the pressure relife, it was stuck and should had payed attention to this before reassembly.

No. You should never see 150 PSI oil pressure. At that pressure, I'm surprised that the filter itself didn't give out.
