took my 01 F250 through some rough terrain this weekend,
highsided the rearend on a BFL.(big fricken log)
i was in 2wd, and thought id check to see what i was stuck on before locking in....
the log, about 3' in diameter was wedged under the pumpkin and the receiver.
so instead of trying to lock in, i decided it was better to get the jack out and remove the log so i didnt rip a brake line or something.
got the log out and fired up the truck.
holy turbo whistle and an extra 60ish hp.
truck sounded meaner than usual!
.
turns out the slip exhaust coupler decided to slip free!
so i was running an open DP right next to my 4R100 electrical...NO BUENO!!!
luckily i added an aluminum heat sheild to keep the exhaust away from it.
got it back home while grinning at the extra power and turbo whistle.
but frowning at the odd steering.
let the truck cool down, and fixed the exhaust, and back to her tame ole self...
i also destroyed the steering stabilizers which made me think i bent some steering components... easy fix,
i robbed the shocks off the MANchero and fixed it
looks like i may have a plugged muffler.
the PO installed a 4" aftermarket exhaust, but boy does it restrict the flow!
i will be making some flanges for the muffler for ease of replacement when it comes time for smog inspections.
and make the same length straight pipe...
screw a muffler!
FYI, non catalytic truck
