Good luck on the transplant, hopefully it doesnt throw any curve balls at ya. Thats a nice looking donar engine

Hey there- about to do the same though you guys are 2 weeks ahead! Just outta curiosity, how did that 5" exhaust go? Got any pointers and price? I am looking for MPG and HP boosts, but trying to do it on the cheap...

About the motor mounts... Man... Paint em up....
And the no wheels... Are all you guys short or just flat bodied?? How are you going to get under there???
No way my butter tumor ( fat gut) would get under the truck. 
But gees guys, It looks like fun especially with all the experianced help you have. Good luck and bag and mark all the nuts and bolts. It really helps going back together....

Big Ed is preped for surgery for the Heart Transplant. The donor is ready....
Uh, Darrin, I think you might have got a bit of that paint on those injectors there, um, I'm not sure though...

Thanks Guys, It is now midnight and I just got back from watching Steve Kinser and the World of Outlaws Sprint cars at I96 speedway. They are so fast on that 1/2 mile dirt speedway! We had a riot!
So I plan on being at the shop meeting Ron ad 7AM and get started.
Yup, well we actually plan on using the cherry picker for this one. But it lets it sit lower for easier on the back working, and I can still roll it back when we are ready for the cherry picker.
The truck is on a lift, but lowered down to the wheels. It is a big truck for the lift but it does work real nice!
Good Call, I allready have the containers that I used when I redid the truck so those will get put to use again.
Yup I am not shure if they are any good because they have been exposed for a while. I plan on installing my fuel system for now untill I get my new pump and injectors. It was easer to leave them in and paint the motor then mask off the holes. I plan on using them for cores for another truck.
Thanks for the well wishes, I will take pics and keep you posted on the progress tomorrow. I am shooting for having it installed and running tomorrow and with the experience of Rob and Bob, I think that is feesable. They are madmen with the wrenches!

Should be no problem getting it done and running tomorow..oops today. Hope the new engine is good. I'll be doing engine work tomorrow also, but it will be for work, not me. Gotta drop an engine out of a Villager and start swaping parts w/ the junkyard engine. Should be fun.....NOT.

Nice shop! Makes one wonder if the sales part of your operation is simply the "excuse" for having such a nice shop.
I think you should bring it to the next IDI weekend so we can also experience it...

QUick update, at 2:00 the motor was out, taking longer that we hoped but that is normal. Bob was not avaliable till about 1:00
May need a turbo rebuild, but will need new gaskets so it will not be done this weekend.
Ron painted my motor mounts guys so no worrys about that!

Good to hear the good news Darrin, now why would You guys paint the engine mounts? Someone mentioned this before but I don't get it.

Becuase if you went through all of that trouble to paint the engine, why wouldnt you paint the motor mounts. It costs only a couple bucks for a can of paint.

Ok Here is my take on the motor mounts, I really didn't see the need to paint them because of where they sit. So Ron and I were talking and we decided to paint them while we had a little down time.
BTW I spent 38.00 for 4 cans of spray paint,..
supposed to be good stuff well see how long it will last.
So here is Ron doing me a favor painting the motor mounts.
(this is supposed to be humorus people)

PS Notice the Big Ed Oil drip on the back of Ron's head! He aint afraid to get dirty.
