cookie induced coma.

odd question for you folks.

how many 9 volt batteries would it take to actuate the FSS?

theoretically.....
if you were faced down hill with a warm engine, and no batteries.

Trick question? So far as I know, you can line up as many 9 volt batteries as you like, and you still get
only 9 volts. You may get more power, amps?, but only 9 volts. Just as our trucks use 2 12 volt batteries, but they're still 12 volt systems.

Then there is the possibility that the VSS might run on 9 volts, given enough amps. Maybe? I don't know the answer to that one.

I thought the fss can be tested outside the truck with one 9v... i had my original crack and i seem to recall bench testing it with a single 9v.

It's been said just one will open the fuel shutoff. I don't know for how long. 2 in series gives you 18V. That's plenty of voltage but I don't know what the current draw is. My guess is a 4 pack might get you a few miles down the road.

Going all dooms day on us here are ya?? [emoji6]
