EGT's and location of probe

The farther away from the Exhaust Manifold, the cooler the temps. You will have to figure out, on your own, what these temperatures mean and how hot is too HOT. Go with what is known, use the manifold! :)

if you say it is in the downpipe, highest is about 800.
if it is in the uppipe pre turbo highest is 1000
in the manifold will be 1200.

I have one in the up pipe right before the turbo on my first gen Banks. Even though it's the "factory" location, I'm not going to use it.. I'd rather have it by the cylinder just so that I don't forget which temperature limit to use! I'd rather play it safe.
