I wasn't here when all the jsnap stuff went on, but when it comes to what he's selling could it be he's just misinformed? Everything else he's selling seems to be legit with decent prices. There was nothing wrong with my cam I got, was as described. I'm guessing he's been told by members that the pump is not really a moose pump, maybe we should suggest he call the guy he ordered the pump from and find out for himself. Tell him to ask if there is a difference between the pump he was shipped and a moose pump. Or if one of us can get an email from the guy who sent him the pump verify that it is not a moose pump and send that email to jsnap.

I don't know the guy and I'm not standing up for him, he sounds like he was a jerk. But, he may just not know what he actually has due to miscommunication between him and the pump builder.

tbh, the little time I delt with him when buying the cam he seemed decent. Cam was shipped the next delivery day, packaged well, was a performance cam, and he emailed me and offered melling lifters for less than he was asking on ebay for them. Maybe I just caught him on a good day, I dunno.

I just emailed him .......

Does it come w a warranty? Was it used? How much additional Hp gain is there over a stock pump?

thanks Brad

his responce ..........

You need to read the ad bud it will explain waranty and all these ques your asking.. The pump was built for a project of mine but I sold the truck before I built the motor thats why I have all these parts the pump was never used and no there is no waranty on the pump when I got it from the builder there was a warranty but that was a while ago and I paid alot more than 450.00 thanks for looking..

How much is a typical moose pump? 7-800? If nothing else it is half price, but i would be leary of it sitting for 4 years and having dry seals

You did just fine with the Cam, and had a good transaction, and that is great.

As you stated, you don't have the history of what crap that he tried to pull here, and on a number of other sites before he was banned. He thought he had an "IN" with the pump builder that Mel uses for the Moose Pumps. But what he has is a turned up pump,..Not a Moose Pump. The builder will ONLY build a Moose Pump when it goes through Mel. He tried to be a "hero" and was slamming Mel for selling pumps that he thinks he can get and cut out the "Middle Man"

It got ugly! and he got banned quite quickly!

Congrats on your positive transaction!

Jsnap failed to realize that "you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar"

He tried to make friends here by using vinegar laced with cyanide.

Very well could be the nicest guy around, but he sure made a lousy impression here... cookoo

On ebay you have a protection that states.... NOT AS DESCRIBED..... Thats how you get your money back if in fact you got something that was differant from the listing... Lets say you bought apples but recieved chickens.... Might sound funny but thats how some sellers cheat buyers on ebay... Think about buying glow plugs for our idi engines thinking they are Motorcraft beru... And then you get a set of autolites.... Because they fit and work.... For a while... You have a reason for getting all your money back but you wont get the repairs to your engine from the seller for the crappy plugs killing a piston....:sly Nobody on this site can tell you that 92 diesel or jsnap is selling a moose pump... Even if you bought it and took it apart... What would you see thats moosified in it....:dunno:sly Only Mel's builder can tell. For me a U haul pump shipped directly to Mel is the cheapest way to get a bonified moose pump at the lowest cost... No shipping a used core of unknown condition... No shipping charges till Mel ships it back to you and.... What parts need to be replaced in a newly rebuilt U haul pump???:dunno Compared to any other pump on any of the big three engines... We really have the lowest cost... Easiest to replace pumps out there. Plus they are the cheapest. Price a P pump.... As I have said over and over... I have enjoyed the Moose pumps that I have used and will continue to support Mel by buying another product... This time it will be a BABY MOOSE PUMP..... Then I can run a Moose pump or a Baby moose pump... I like spares and choices... I'm am aware of the costs of all this extra stuff but thats me. This is my life.. Its not a truck.... Most here can understand but someone from the outside just can't see spending money on an old truck. Just my trans and Gear Vendors has cost me almost $8,000.00 but I have what I wanted. An easy rig to drag anything I hook up to down the road at my pace.... Safely...:sly

He's probably just trying to stir up a reaction. Some people just get a kick out of ******* on an anthill. If that pump is 4 years old its probably all dried out.

two thoughts.

first. Why don't one of you call Joel @ Conestoga Diesel and ask him if he can get you a price on a moose pump?
That'll solve one question.

Second, I bought my pump from Mel. If it was $50 more than from the builder I would have still bought it.
Wow, you say.... are you stupid? do you have too much money? Are you that good of a friend of Mels?
Nope. Not stupid, often broke, and a barely know mel. I support Mel's Moose pump with my money because he is trying to advance the technology for the 7.3idi diesel. As far as I am concerned, rewarding Mel with my purchase, or helping him break even on the time/energy/money he has invested will hopefully make him more interested in another project like this in the future.

Thanks,
Drew

The new compounds of seal material dont really "dry out"like the old nitrile ones so sitting shouldnt be an issue, also helps that it had test fluid thru it before packaging. Not this stuff they sell as "fuel".
