C6 rebuild

Ok, all. Hoping to do the E4OD, built to the hilt upgrade, but time is pressing, so I'm rebuilding the c6. I'm bone stock, but I want a good, solid C6. I hate the way mine performs, so a few questions:

1. I am looking seriously at the BD torque converter. Also called Suncoast and DTT, but have yet to hear back from them. Any other suggestions? I know a good TC is half, if not more than half the battle.

2. What mods should I do to the tranny? I'm wondering about a valve body (reverse/forward) valve body that does not shift on it's own? I am sick and tired of the gear hunting when I'm in town, and I'm fairly certain it's killing any mileage I might have gotten. If I do a valve body upgrade, do I need to fortify any other components due to excessive wear because of a higher performance valve body? Does running at a lower rpm (say 1500 to 1800 in town, at 35 mph) cause any problems if I do go to the different valve body?

3. Am I missing anything? What rebuild kits do you all like. I see TCI has one?
