Well, the fiancee decided that she wants an IDI too, so I started looking. I found this beauty (yeah right LOL) and went to look at it. I'm buying it even though it has issues. The mice have used the engine compartment for a home so some wiring is chewed up, but I have a parts truck with good wiring to replace it all. The truck has been sitting for 10 years and only has 53,702 original miles on it. I talked the owner down to $200 ($150 if I take the camper with it :D). It's a 6.9L NA, 4x4 with the IFS 50 in the front, Dana 70 rear, C6 automatic, and the bed has the "Explorer" embelm on the side (emblem is missing, but you can still see where it went). It even has the factory tach in the cluster too! ;Sweet It needs help, but I know that it can be a nice truck when it's cleaned up and running again.

I'll call you tomorrow. The camper has some bad roof leaks in the front, and the driver's side rear jack and corner of the camper is torn half off. I figure that I might gut the camper, sell the appliances, and maybe make my $150 back in the end. ;Really

The looks like a heck of a deal, the body is in really nice shape. You should have it running in no time at all.

You can't even find a rusted up bed around here for that kind of money. I looked for a decent bed for a long time before I welded new arches in mine and the stupid things would sell before I could even call if they were less than $500.

Why did it sit for 10 years?? You will be having planty of seal leaks on everything but for the price and mileage you can't go wrong. Gees... Even if it needs a motor and trans you still got a good deal....

It was used only for hauling the camper and towing a boat up to the lakes for fishing trips. I guess on the last trip it "lost power" pulling the hill up to East Lake (it's a steep hill too). The owner said they made it to the top and drove it back home (about 50 miles) just fine. They parked it and he bought a PSD. The tags on the IDI expired in '99. After that, the truck has just sat while the PSD has done the camper hauling (they bought a newer camper also - to match the newer truck I guess :dunno) and boat towing.

I wanted a truck and you told me a Ford IDI or none! And don't knock my truck:backoff, I remember how your first IDI looked when it first came in the yard.

kenneth if your up to I will would be willing to get the camper and repair it, do some trading maybe or something.
