Buying a used ats turbo kit, sight unseen

Im glad I found this thread, as I was about to start a new one with similar questions. So the kits with the big square "banks style" air cleaners are still 088 kits? Or are they 085?

the guy agreed to my offer of 500.00 for the kit.. problem is i kinda got cold feet becouse he wasn't understanding how to check turbo play? so im asuming the turbo is probly going to be shott all to hell.... is 500.00 a good deal, if the tubo ends up being shott?

Yeah 500 even with a bad turbo is good if it is complete with everything. It might be fine, but who knows till you see it.

ya it's a coin toss, i just hate to dump 500.00 and have a turbo that needs a 500.00 rebuild. plus i'll have to deal with the ats crap that nothing s avalible for the kit..

ALSO does anybody know what kind of hp/torgue #'s i could expect from the kit with a fresh turbo?? just trying to get a rough idea
