hi to all. truck broke down-stranded, unique transport, miles from home, its my mobile house aswell...ve pump out on 12v cummins. managed to get recently serviced s/hand pump, as mine was f##'ked(stripped by pump specialist, rotor head destroyed) when i received s/hand pump, in post top cover where the accelerater shaft goes thru casing busted
i swapped over top casing, but guestimated where the original governer spring setting was.it means that i set the spring cam to be a couple of milimetres away from housing at wide open position(viewed from inside)
now ive been stuck in a car park for 4 weeks waiting to find a pump....
fitted it(in snow) bled injectors thru, but she wont fire on own( i get some starting with easy start but then it shuts off) no luck at all, just wont fire.
WHERE DO YOU INDEX THE GOVERNER SPRING/CAM TO?
i wish to check i have the right injector line connected/ pump end- whats the sequence, clockwise- i.e cyl 1 ,2,3, etc??
is it possible to fit the pump "out of phase" with engine? i used blocking pin, in pump drive, BUT not on pump..
any help would be much appreciated, as the cops have been round to turf me off already..
