Hi,

I just had an issue with my vacumm pump, but it was replaced. Today after I returned home, I got back in the truck and started it up but noticed the BRAKE indicator on the dash was lit even after releasing the E-brake. The brakes felt fine though so I took it for a very slow ride. The light would slowly dim, then at times come back on, then dim. Finally the light went completely out after about 5 minutes of driving. I let the car sit for a few hours...got back in and it did the same thing, but this time for not as long. What is the deal with this? Anyone had this happen before.

The only thing I can come up with is that the vacumm pump is not completely doing its job, or there is a leaks somewhere in the system? Is there a sensor in the brake resivour of an '86? The only other thing I changed today was the fuel filter, which required a bit of cranking after changing...could this have caused an issue? Please help me out, thanks.
