I did get the starter installed today, and was able to turn the motor over. It actually wanted to start without the fuel hooked up.

It was a good sign.

At least I could have put to work for a while but Noooo, you and the fam wanted to head home with the 5ver,..I understand.

Good seein you-alll today!

Could not help but notice that you upgraded your cold side on the turbo. What is/was wrong with the factory cold side? You looking to throw it away?

sweet! how long till you can drive it?

Couple of weeks yet, I need it by the 21st to go camping so I have my work cut out for me.

Still need to do:

finish interior instal
Build a Down pipe, hook up the exhaust
reassemble the front of the truck
Install and plum the Intercooler
Hook up the vacume to the motor
Redo the throttle cable, it is temp tywraped for now.
I need to make a dual battery hold down for the Optimas that will be on the drivers side battery tray.
Custom T-Case handle
Other misc small stuff.cookoo

Here are some pics of the progress:

Interior going back in with the sterio, counsol and new floor shifter getting hooked up, Trans cooler installed, lines run, aux filter on the frame. There is a shot of the tranny lines that will be by the exhaust, I wraped them with wire loom, and then the heat proof wrap.
Shots of the motor wiring etc:

Few more pics:

The one with the 2 senders is the hot side of the trans going into the cooler. The first sender goes to the toggle at the temp guage, the other kicks the fan on at 180 deg, and shuts it off at 170. ;Sweet

On another subject, While I was taking pics,... For those of you who have seen the Big Ed Video have noticed and probablly been desturbed by the amount of exhaust coming out of the right side of the truck, and the very little exhaust coming out of the left side of the truck, about 90% to 10%

Shortly after that vid was shot I took care of that situation and now get close to 50/50 on each side of the truck. Now that the exhaust is removed I took a shot down the pipe to show how we did it.

We took a short piece of 2" pipe with an elbow and welded it to the inside of the 4" pipe, it grabs about 1/2 of the smoke and puts it on the other side. That way I get both rear rims equally dirty

Thought you might like to take a peek,..

Update for today...

I can actually start it, put it in drive and reverse, and it moves forward and backwards! ;Sweet I Know, Quite a Concept hu,..?

I got the amp, speakers and rear power slider window all wired up and it all works. I got the B&M Shifter installed and hooked up. I had to bypass the nuteral saftey switch, and the reverse lights, and run the wires to the shifter. It all works!

I got the rest of my Amsoil synthetic Tranny fluid and got the filled the trans, and it works too!

Overall a good productive day!

Wow Darrin. The amount of work your doing this year, makes last years effort look paltry. If it fails on the way to the rally this time...... Somebody better ride shotgun with a tranquilizer dart. LOL

Just a Shotgun would work, no tranquilizer would be needed,.LOL Ill let Lori know,...

I definatly took a big bite this year, and would be in real good shape if I didn't get 3 weeks behind because of the torque converter spacer ring. I really am getting pumped to get it on the road!

Where did you get the switch? That is exactly what I looking for for my truck.

I got it from the hot rod shop up the road from me. I think it was like $35 or $40.00 I can check tomorrow. If you want I can pick one up and ship it to you, let me know..

No, especally since it is on the HOT side of the tranny line. My old tranny gauge didn't go into the yellow till 220. I will be able to monitor it with 2 sendors that I have on the new tranny gauge., One on the hot line, and one on the trans itself.

Today I bought the IC pipes,

Here is what I plan too use:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...STRK:MEWN:IT&viewitem=&item=190219984710&rd=1

I have been doing a lot of looking and eyballing what I think will fit, and this kit has the best quality of the piping, silicone couplers and the good clamps. I figured the black pipes can get dirty and and it won't matter much. It also has the ribed ends so the couplers will stay on easier.

I also got an Eaton Switch to install on the B&M Shifter for the Gearvendors Overdrive, But there is no real good way to install it yet, so I am still working on that setup.

Thats about it for today,..
