Ok it's tomorrow.

Is it done yet?:D

It is now! ;Sweet

Pulled it out of the garage about 7:30 PM, took it for a spin, when I got on it I blew an intercooler hose, fixed it and it happened again on a different one. Guess I will have to do the hair spray trick.

It runs great, no drones, noises or vibrations, very smooth. The cab is suprisingly quiet so I am happy with the sound deadening!.

for now I am going to take it easy for a couple of days before I start rodding on it. but I drove it home tonight 20 miles on the highway, so far so good!

Long day,....

You spray the intercooler boots with hair spray to give them a little more "grip" so that they wont blow off so easily. I guess it works pretty good.

Hair spray is used to hold in place rubber to metal in lots of 'round applications. For instance, if you want to put your motorcycle grips onto a set of handlebars, spray hair spray on the inside of the grips, slide them where you want them, and when the hairspray dries it's glued in place.

Darrin, glad you got it all ironed out and working good! What did you end up doing about that Eaton Switch for the overdrive unit? Throw in a pic if you can ;)

Nice job indeed, I was teasing the boy's at work the other day about a swap for my 91, we just put a new 3126 CAT into a garbage truck and the first engine they sent us was wrong....So there it sat in the crate from CAT, a long block 3126....Now that would be cool in my Ford....LOL....Enjoy the goat, atleast you don't have to drive a Dodge to have one....:rotflmao :D

Intercooler in your future,..?,. Hmmmmm.? Cool,

Yes I will have to do the Hair Spray truck as the others explained. At 30 PSI the boots don't want to hold on very well. If I keep it under 20 it is fine. Looks like I will be buying some Aquanet today!

Yup, It is working but not how I want it to. I used the wiring diagram for the dimmer switch, but attached it to the eaton switch. What happens is it works great for manual mode, but won't go into autodrive.

How Autodrive works, it is just like an OD trans, it kicks in automatically at 45 MPH. I want it to work that why when I am just driving it, then when I want to work it, or get on it hard, I can do it manually. I need to call GV and find out what I need to do.

I also don't know if it will shut off when I come to a complete stop if I don't remember to hit the switch. IF not It may hurt the unit.

Here are a few pics, I am still adjusting the T-Case shifter so the knob isn't installed yet.

I got to tow with it today, Needed to move a CJ small block to the lot. It runs awesome but won't know how strong till I take care of the Intercooler boots.

I put about 100 miles on it this weekend, there are a few issues to work out, some wiring under the dash decided to smoke on me, I have a leaky injector, the VRV will need some tinkering, Tac does not work, stuff like that. Just need to work out some of the bugs that go with a project of this magnatude.

Overall, very happy so far!

Here are some more pics, New front bumper got installed also,..

Here are pics of the Batteries that I promised. The 12V Cummins doesn't require dual batteries, but I wanted them anyway.

BTW This morning it was 30 deg, no glow plugs, no heater grid, not plugged in, it started in less than of a second of hitting the key!

Hairspray, if your boots are blowing off then just tighten the clamps up or get better clamps. We test intercoolers at 30psi and higher. CAT makes some night clamps, good quality and able to handle the 55psi of boost the C15's run. I always tighten them with a 3/8 air ratchet or 3/8 gun.
