Anybody ever see/use SUPERLEX batteries ??

The guy that owns the factory started making batteries in an old garage and now they have a couple dozen semis and haul batteries all over US and Canada, all made just a couple miles from me.

Funny thing is, I have never had one myself.

The best batteries I've evr had were in my '88. My dad was working for Pape Cat and got my two batteries that were CAT batteries. I never had any problems with them.

My experience is that batteries hate to be chronically undercharged. If your charging system is in good shape (clean connections, good cables, etc) the batteries seem to last at least 10 years. I had a problem with my truck where the stock regulator died, and the cheapo autozone ones I got to replace it, undercharged, then rattled to pieces! I'm not sure if it had to do with a larger amperage alternator, or just awful quality...I fixed it by buying one of thesehttp://www.cpgenerator.com/voltageregulators.html
scroll down to ford external ADJUSTABLE
Then set up your DVM and adjust the potentiometer to 14.5-14.7 and your done!
It's worked like a charm for years and only cost about $25 at the local auto electric specialist.

Hey there Hahn, you hit the nail on the head, I had the adjustable and didnt know it, mine was set to 13 dead on, at the battery not the alt or dash meter. I was getting ready to look for new batts ,turned it up to 14.2 at the battery, starts like a new truck.
You know blanchard electric has those, maybe you could set up a group buy?? Might save members a lot of grief and battery /starter expense.
I am coming to seattle in a couple weeks, lunch???
