Ok, it was bugging me, so I flipped the batteries around and redid the cables. Had to make another long positive and one negative.

Does terminating cables with ring terminals and bolting them to the battery post connectors add any additional resistance to the circuit? Compared to if you used the standard crimped lead battery post connectors.
I like your set up a lot. I personally hate the lead post connectors and really like how all your cables are terminated with ring terminals allowing you to just replace the post connectors if they get jacked up. I am in the process of upgrading my starter to a power master PN:9050 with all new cables and would prefer to use ring-terminal connections over the classic lead crimped terminals but I want to make sure I am sending as much power to my starter as possible.
I am also considering using 3/0 cables as well instead of the 2/0.

Thanks so much! I hope my cables will look as good as yours

I don't know if it adds resistance but I've been running the military terminals and cable ends with crimped FTZ power lugs for years now without any issues. The 9050 starter in my truck spins real fast and I only ran 2/0 to the starter. After connecting everything the finishing touch was to spray down the terminals/cable ends with Fluid Film. It's also recommended to spray the cable ends with Fluid Film prior to crimping.

I used these power lugs, https://baymarinesupply.com/ftz-tinned-power-lug-battery-terminal.html
Also found a great price on 2/0 welding cable on Ebay--much better than most of the online retailers I checked with.

Are you crimping or soldering the lugs/ring terminals?

Do an ohm reading, if its less than 0.1 I wouldn't sweat it.

There is a right and left battery for our trucks (different part numbers0 The posts are swapped so that you can get both positives on the inside. Good parts guy would have got that sorted out for you when he saw you buying 2 batteries, but good parts guys are hard to find these days. I don't think they pay enough or appreciate their skill or value to customers. But I digressed. You already have the batteries so get them secure and "run it". You can sort it out later when you get new batteries.

Are you sure? Every idi ive seen always had the same part# and just the battery is flipped. In his first picture it looks like the passenger side batt is in backwards compared to every other idi ive seen.

I am about to re-do the battery cables on 2 trucks. They are both badly in need and I only want to order cable once so I have questions.

How much cable length did it take to do your truck?
Where did you find that pass through connector on the passenger side positive terminal?

Also looks really good. Nice work.

Due to internal corrosion in the cable, I replaced the positive cable using Napa pre-made cable last year. It was about $180 -- up to $220 now. Length was a little long -- I had to reverse the driver's side battery to put the positive pole closest to the side of the truck

Have you considered group 31 batteries with studs?

I have 2 group31 batteries. 1 in the skid steer, the other a spare at the moment. It's worth considering. But I also have 2 brand new group 65's dated 11/25, and 2 more group 65's that are testing at 65% of new currently, so going to have to use those. Either way at this point it is all ordered. Going with marine grade terminals, 1255 strand 2/0 everything, 3/8" crimp lugs and a Temco dieless crimper. 25 ft of red and 30 ft of black. Hope it's enough cable to complete everything on both trucks but we'll see.

NAPA batteries are 27 for pass side and 27F for drivers side. All terminals toward firewall with negative to outside.
