Thanks for the response I’ll have to see what turbo I have I don’t think it’s the slip fit. I just know it’s the older banks kit without wastegate. I am installing a 2” body lift. My grandads running boards hide this too. I’ve done this on all my IDI’s and my reason is because it gives so much more room for the turbo piping and pulling transmission and maintenance. My truck is a mint 1986 6.9 with gen 1 banks turbo and c6. Once the body lift is on I’ll swap the c6 for my zf5. I’m planning on swapping turbos and adding a wastegate. I get about 6lbs boost now. Truck runs great but want to get up around 10lbs and have overdrive. I also plan on swapping tires to the 255/85R16 for looks and to slow everything down a bit more I have 4.10 gears. Truck is 2wd.
Plans are zf5 swap, turbo swap, intercool, body lift and wheels and tires, I have a gear vendors I want to put in as well but won’t be until next year I need to send it in. I’m okay with the power and just a little more would be great. I mainly want to turbo swap for sound and response. Give me an excuse to build a nice exhaust. I don’t have studs and still on the stock pump. CCD isn’t far from me so eventually I may go that route. For now just a slight revamp more for looks and drivability with modern speed limits here in TX.
