The up pipe connection with the lower pipe is very loose and there is a lot of soot around the area.
Also the up pipe has a twist restriction in it,
Is there an upgrade?

Russ, typ4 on here sells new y-collectors and up-pipes. with a welder and some stainless tube i don't see why you couldn't make your own though. would be easiest to mock up on an engine that is out of the truck.

yeah, the twist is a restriction, but i really don't think it is that big of a deal. all though all the little things do add up.

I do have new castings, and that looks restricted but if its too big you lose velocity and heat then it lags.

I'd rather not spend anymore money if it won't make much difference.
But I still have a very loose connection between the two pipes and much soot in the area.
Could this make for a tighter connection?
