does any one know if the 1356 will bolt to the nv4500? wanting to retain the lights on the dash and shift pattern.

1356 is 31 spline, NV4500HD is 29 spline. The bolt pattern and centering step are the same dimensions though.

The dodge 4x4 mainshaft doesn't stick out far enough to effectively engage a ford transfercase. I buy a new 2wd NV4500HD mainshaft and have Kieth at Dutchmans cut it down to the correct length, respline it to 31 spline and heat treat it.

You can also spend about $600 for a hoky setup from advance adapters that comes with a spacer ring and a spud shaft.

All modern t-cases have mode and range indicator switches built in. If the shift pattern is different it takes 10 seconds to pop out the shift pattern button in the end of the knob and replace it with a different one. If the shift pattern is reversed, flip the lever on the t-case.
