Hey all, My truck is nearing the completion (Sorry I havent posted any pics) but anyway the truck is going to need an assembled title and I need to have the serial #'s from the frame and engine and trans, I have found the #'s on the engine and trans but does anyone know where to look on the frame? I need to show proof of ownership for all these but I have to have the #'s also, thanks in advance-Brad-

Brad,
What year is the frame and what title info do you have besides drivetrain info?
Cab or chassis paperwork?
I don't have any connections to any of the Grand Traverse State police post.
I may be able to give my local connections a call if you have an idea what year on the frame.
Heck I used em once down here for the 5'er I bought and they came out for fun to check it for me, not sure if'n it was a favor or they needed to get out of the office. The guys told me it was field training.
My tax dollars being recovered. ;Sweet

On edit, I found that it's a 89 frame.

Bad news is, I spoke to the Lt with the local unit here and he stated that you'll have to get in contact with your local salvage inspector.

frame is an 89' but the body went to the scrapyard a few years ago, along with the title:confused: , The scrapyard would not accept it without a title, -thanks-Brad-

I've got recipts on the cab and driveline but the frame is the only thing that worries me now.-Brad

Don't happen to have an old insurance certificate floating around?
I also just spoke to one of the department detectives and he's digging up the vin loaction books.;Sweet

Can't ya just get a salvage title on the cab VIN?
NOPE! Michigan requires frame vin also and they won't just tell ya where it's located at either. cookoo
Prohibits the chop shoppers an easy ways out.
I can't even recall seeing the vin stamping either when I got the frame back from the sand blasting shop.

If you were the previous owner of the whole truck the frame shouldnt be an issue, but we are talking about DMV, I think all states have training to make things difficult for us.

Forgot, When I said it went to the scrapyard I was thinking of a differant truck, The cab I sold(which is off the frame I have now went on another f250 but 4wd....the body that went to the scrapyard was off the truck that the cab I sold went on, so the truck is still out there just with a 4wd chassis.-Brad-
