today i thought i was gonna show you how much of a badass i could be.
i started tearing the truck apart around 11 am.
i disassembeled everything to pull trans, transfer, and engine for the engine work.
about 2 hours into it, all i had to do was remove the trans, starter, turbo, trans body inspection cover
power steering hoses, and oil filter.
everything was golden until this point.
i started with the power steering hoses,
i went to cut the return line, and replace it, but when i did, i realized it was new trans line and a hose clamp that was easy to get to.
disassembled feed line & return line, no issue.
went to pull the turbo off, with the exhaust cross over off, and the Y.
because of the injection line system still in tact, i couldnt get it to clear the cowl.
had the bright idea to undo the rear trans mount and lift it up as much as i could.
BINGO! turbo came right out. besides the olives being complete crap, everythings Aok.
removed trans cross member to pull trans (with transfer off)
i really did try to remove the trans while leaving the inspection cover.. wasnt gonna happen, the selector hit the cover.
grease on my seats at carpet...
this is where things went down hill.
took me 25 f'n minutes to remove the G'd starter, because i misplaced my 13 mm swivel head. (the perfect tool for the top starter bolt)
pissed.....
time is 3 pm now.
went to take the hood off.
mind you, im doing this myself, no help in sight.
got the driverside spring and hindge off, and 3/4 of the passenger side off.
the last thread on the last bolt and a gust of wind sent my hood barreling twards the f'n ground, mangeling the driverside corner.
-SUPER PISSED.
i tried to leave as much alone as i could. it bit me in the ass.
got everyhting ready to pull the engine.
and BAM engine was gonna smack the inner cooler.
removed it...
lifted the engine up more, and BAM decided to pull the windsheild wiper motor.
at this time, by brother shows up.
i ask him to help me guide the engine out, and as soon as the exhaust manifold was about to reach the clutch slave, forklift dies.
out of F'n propane!
got back, took my medication, drank 3 beers, relaxed, and the rest of the pull went like clockwork..
im bringing this thread back to life, because my truck is about to under go some major transformations!
atleast todays over, tomorrow is a new day. ride it like you stole it!
