i welded a 2" piece of aluminum pipe into the turbo hat.
the discharge tube is 2" as well
i used 2 1/4" stainless tubing, i used 2 U-bends with 10" legs, i think they were 6" radius mandrel bends.
i also used 4' of 2 1/4" straight pipe, also stainless.

2.25 to 3" 90 * bends to go into the inner cooler.

took me about 3-4 hours to fab and weld up... but i was also doing other things inbetween.
an hour to mount, and called it done.

i wish i would have clearenced the radiator support cleaner, but i wasnt messing with tryin to hole saw it.

No plumbing parts... good job! Those are the good clamps too, sold as "T-Bolt"

Dunno how many worm screw ones I blew up before I found those.

Not to be a ****** but it's customary to have "double hump" connectors on long runs of pipe to dampen engine vibrations/flex.

tjhose pipes look slick! when I finally get a tig id like to make some bent pipes like that too. I got friggin 8 boots on my setup lol..16 clamps!!!

and yes that clamp thing you are referring to is a T bolt clamp. lots of variations of these, clampco makes some quality pieces, much much nicer than that ebay stuff, but theyre 10 bucks a pop!! someone is selling apparantly genuine clampcos on ebay out of cali for 2.65 a pop, killer deal i fthey are real.

your 01..i know the factory 06 cooler had double hump connectors at the intercooler itself. Maybe yours does too? speaking of which i lost one of the spring clamps for the bellows!...hope it holds lol

My 2009 6.4 had them on both ends of the intercooler. The SRT4 had one on a particularly long run of pipe.

Regular straight boots just don't like flexing in the ways an engine wiggles. You don't want the pipes too rigidly mounted, but not flopping. You can run them straight (and it may be just fine) but periodically check them for wear where the pipe ends inside of it. It can slowly tear up das boot.

Siliconeintakes.com has buckets of intake elbows, bits, clamps, tubes, etc etc

the filter sits perfect with the cowl hood.
gonna make a bottom air catch for it later.

That's on the to do list!
I have some 316 SS. Filler rod holding it in place now. LOL

no NOTICABLE gain with this set up.
Chugging down the freeway just now at 80 mph, EGTs were steady at 850
Going up a grade 3/4 throttle, she went up to 1050, if I peg it, she'll skyrocket into the red.

Guess I'm still drivin by pyro!
Wooded up the grade max psi I see is 10.
That's 3 pounds less than without the FMIC

i was slightly worried about my temp, but no NOTICABLE raise in temp from before.
She don't run any different.

the innercooler? I got it from speed daddy.com
