I love hearing stories like these! I have many of the same stories, because i am running my own fan setup. However I dont want to be the only one experiencing great cooling and the safety and lack of tension that comes from no longer worrying about cooling system temperatures! Keep working those fans and clutches!

Do you know of a way to use a fan indicator light with this? I suppose just take the power to fan signal and splice in, run a wire to a light in the cab? Or with the speed ramp up would that be more complicated?

Also I just want to reiterate how awesome this fan clutch kit is! I recently intercooled my truck, and this thing keeps it cooled off real good. Once again thank you for making these available to all!

I dont know about a light, but I can definitely hear when mine kicks on!

I am mostly deaf in my left ear, so I can’t. That’s why I want a light…

Ahh gotcha. Mine sounds like a wind turbine going off when it spins up, and gets very quiet when it disengages. I don't know if a light would work, since it is variable, I'd have to dig up the manual for the controller, if I remember right it does have a few unused connsftions, I wonder if they're for a manual engage switch and a light or something.

Installing mine right now. Haven't put it to the test yet, but all the components are quality made and installation is straight forward. Looking forward to using it
Mine is working great. I no longer have to wait until it gets a little hot for comfort, before the factory clutch locks, IF it even locks. And i've used the manual mode several times on long grades with anticipated heat build up. I can now run without ever getting hotter than 205ish, where it would have reached into the 220's on the same truck before lock up with the factory clutch.

anyone else have any long term reviews of how their fan and/or clutch are holding up?
mine has been doing great so far the only failure i have had, was the fan clutch failed to lock in, i was pulling a mountain pass this winter and i hit 220* coolant and oil temp at the top, and never heard the fan come on. I was absolutely blown away i had a fan clutch fail, i had power to the controller, and it was commanding it on, that was when i looked and apparently when i had last had the fan clutch off, for a leaking front main seal, i did not get my fan clutch connection fully seated!
Who could have possibly imagined a electroviscous fan clutch cant work via bluetooth?

since then, as usual the fan and clutch have been flawless

Other than I haven't adjusted the temperature threshold for mine yet, still working just fine.

I have one on my 91 F-Superduty, a service truck that I use very often. It’s heavy by itself, and a beefy bumper pull trailer loaded down adds to the strain. I’ve blown a few radiators up, but that doesn’t seem to be due to overheating. Even pulling heavy, I rarely get above 210*. I have a FlowKooler water pump, and currently a Mishimoto radiator, got tired of exploding plastic tanks on the Napa radiators, I think they’re having quality issues with them. My Mishimoto already leaks, but that’s due to my own stupidity… left a socket under the hood that met the fan, and the fan introduced the socket to one of the radiator cores. I patched it, but it still has a bit of a weep. Moving forward, I’ll probably drop the extra coin on brass radiators.

With the fan off though, it heats up quick, since I’ve added a 90 cc injection pump, and then proceeded to max out the screw after install. Hypermax turbo with intercooler. That fan and clutch is an awesome combo, keeps it cooled down, especially with the 5.13 gears, it runs pretty high RPM, which adds to water temp.

10/10 would recommend the fan and clutch kit, it’s not cheap, but worth every penny if you ask me.

I have another one of these kits on the shelf, it will go on my 94, but that project got more involved, complicated, time consuming and expensive than originally intended… due to cool people making even more cool stuff for me to spend money on… what was originally going to be a 94 F350 C&C is becoming a 94 F-Superduty 4x4… found someone who makes hubs for the Dana 60 that mount up the 10x7.25 rims. And since I have a spare rolling chassis from an F-Superduty… well… lets just say I’m willing to make it more expensive to make it more capable… gonna regear to 4.30, and the 110 cc pump and R&D 093 turbo with 99-03 PSD intercooler will add LOTS of heat… so that fan and clutch kit will be a necessity on that truck as well… oh and the E4OD plan I had got axed due to a lucky purchase of an Allison 1000 series still in the original crate, on the like whoa cheap. It’ll still be more expensive than the E4OD, because now I’m gonna need to give money to CA Conversions for a swap kit… but yeah, anyways, that fan and clutch kit will be an essential part of the cooling system for this… unorthodox beast… and has been essential for my current truck.

I have that problem too. In a few months, I plan to bring home what may be my last major build. That one will be EXPENSIVE, but it will be worth it in the end. There won't be many pictures on here since it uses spark plugs.

With ac it is turned on at 60% to keep you cool in the summer, and 100% on with a user supplied toggle switch for any scenario.
You might have already answered this. How loud is the fan at 60% duty cycle?

And 100% vs the stock fan?

In my van when the fan locks in, it becomes loud!!

My van has been converted to 134a but still has the tube/fin condenser so I love the lock in option for idle or low speed. But what about when running 70mph down the road with it at 60% duty cycle….

Thanks!

and maybe because i have gotten used to the noise, or my sound deadened does a great job, the 60% is a dull roar, and the 100% you know it is on, but not obnoxious
a mechanical fan clutch if working should lock and have the same noise level as my fan clutch
however if you have a stock fan, or a slipping clutch it wont be moving as much air, and therefore will be quieter
