Ok I read the 130 amp alt install by Mr. Roboto. I think I will be doing this as soon as possible, mostly because I live in town. I do get a couple 30 mile one way trips in a week but mostly start it go a few miles and shut off. My thinking is with the larger alt my batteries will recharge more quickly and hopefully extend my battery life. And maybee the alt will last a little longer. What am I missing. Thoughts opinions advice and experiences welcome.

Soounds like you really don't need at least for the reasons you are giving. I did the conversion on mine butI have a lot of electrical accesseries, tow 5th wheel trailer and am looking into electric fans.

But it is good peace of mind to know you plenty of charging power.
