I was thinking about your wheel hop comment. So I tried a burnout in my f350 with 35’s. Wheel hop confirmed! Haha. Then I realized it’s a lifted truck and moved on.

Great Mirrors

I'm curious to see where you Generally Mount them.
They are big enough that you could say Good Morning to the person behind you.
Even if they cost Good Money I think you will like them.
So stop waiting around and Get Moving!
LOL

Interested to see where you go with the mirrors. Mounting cleanly without effectively making the a-pillar super big has always been my concern.

I have a couple ideas on the mirrors but honestly this is going to be an experiment. I really don’t want to mess up my wing windows.

Yes I’ve seen those. I don’t think the superduty mirrors are feasible really hence why I bought these. I can take them apart and I see custom mounting options. The SD mirrors I think would be much harder to pull that off.

Yup. The square chevy mirrors fit the body lines better than the round Sd mirrors. Lol
Some have mounted in a way that you can still open the wing window, but only halfway.

I figure Brian is getting away with chebby suspension on his bronco project I might get away with the mirrors. Honestly, the big reason I grabbed them was that I see them as the easiest to mod for a different mounting scheme and the shape don’t look bad against the truck. I couldn’t bring myself to do dodge mirrors though. My brother likes them on his Ram but he only turns them out for big trailers. No moose antlers. LOL

Couple other random thoughts I want to capture.

- Must fix the mystery fuel leak in the rear tank. I think it’s leaking around the sender but I’m not 100%. Only having one tank sucks though.

- backup camera. Hitching the trailers by yourself sucks.

- spare tire carrier. It’s currently living in the bed. I picked up a winch style carrier from a superduty. I’ll see if I can make that work since the stock one was missing and they really suck anyway.

- I would really like to add onboard air but that’s a really low priority.

You know the longer I follow this build the more I feel like a copy cat. There are many ideas that we've had in common, though you are certainly the first to accomplish them. I really like the result though. It's inspiration to keep going, even though it's taking far longer than I had hoped to get mine where I want it.

Amen to that! Sometimes it's threads like these that are the only motivation I have. It's great to see the progress, and helpful to see the pain. In the end it'll all be worth it!
