I have the mesh with lid hold down nut.
Do you know if the dome lid will work on my intake? (if I can find one, or make one)

Not trying to thread jack but I just tried this today on my truck. I have a similar situation with what sounds like a single hammering injector that I can hear very clearly when standing 20ft infront of the truck. Once I start cracking injector lines loose it's very difficult to trace it with all the extra underhood noise. I did listen to each injector with a pry bar and noticed some injectors hammer and some don't. probably half do and half don't. Pump are unknown mileage and quite crusty. Maybe we need to crack an injector loose and step back to really listen??? I've been trying to train my GF so she can help me but she doesn't like diesel fuel smells and doesn't know what sounds i'm hearingIt helps me to have someone else crack injector lines while I stand back and listen. Much easier to separate it from the rest of the noise.
Pull your air cleaner off. Remove the lid and set it aside. Look at the hole in the bottom of the air cleaner that fits over the intake manifold. If there's a piece of metal that runs across the hole (that fits over the intake manifold), THAT'S what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the air cleaner. You're talking about the intake manifold. NO air cleaner had any type of mesh in it. The baffle that was on most, but not all air cleaner lids may hit that bar on the bottom of the air cleaner. I don't remember seeing a lid baffle and that bar on the same air cleaner.I'm confused. Sorry.
They all had it when new but I may not be able to use it? I haven't noticed any modifications done to my intake or lid. (not saying for sure though)
I have the screen and bar across the intake that the lid bolt screws into. How would the lid be held on if there was no bar?
