So what did you do with your truck today?

Yeah first time I was parked with the flashers on I was trying to figure out why it sounded like a backup beeper going very quietly. I finally realized it was the magnets in the trailer brakes!

Well, pulsing the brakes makes the moving slow part come true for sure! Of course, our old trucks don't need help with moving slow.

Oh. Because they share the bulb without a diode it backfeeds the wire going to the brake pedal. It must on which side of the brake pedal switch it's hooked into. I only mention it because it "shouldn't" do that, for obvious reasons like you stated.

The diode is to prevent this backfeed. My brake controller is connected to the factory brake controller harness.

Turns out this is a "known issue" with many older Ford pickups. The cheap brake controller it replaced didn't have this problem, it was likely "too dumb" and ignored.

I wanted the rims for the crew cab, but there's no way I am running 35s with 3.55s on the tow rig. This truck is also 3.55, but it's just my daily now, and I am not letting these tires go to waste. They look darn good on there too!

32 security lug nuts, one on each and every stud on the truck? That guy was truly paranoid. Those things usually come in packs of 4, with a single key to fit all 4. That would mean the guy would have to have 8 keys. Those keys aren't small, either. The guy needed to talk with a doctor about his paranoia.

Yup, all 32 lug nuts, and I completely agree. I would hate to see how many locks he has on his front door, lol

It works yeah! No more trailer brake pulsing with hazard flashers.

After work, I went to Harbor Freight and Wal-Mart to do a little bit of Christmas shopping for myself. I was a block before turning off of the main street to go toward my house and I saw a dog come running out toward my truck. I could tell that it was going to chase me so I gave it a little throttle and thought "that should take care of it". As I started to slow down for my turn, I could hear that stupid dog barking close to the passenger's rear corner of my bed. I was probably doing about 15 MPH at this time, still in 3rd gear, so I just put the hammer down to the floor. I sped up a little bit and looked in the rearview mirror after about 1/2 block. The dog had turned away from my truck and was going back the way it came. I guess you could say that I used my truck to teach a dog a little lesson about chasing vehicles. Apparently it doesn't care much for black, sooty smoke!

My truck has a back up beeper right behind the rear tank filler neck. I didn't know until I replaced the the reverse switch on the trans. Drove me nuts trying to find it.

I can see that driving you nuts!

I'm strongly considering one for the dually, but on a switch so it can be disabled as needed. There's times it would be nice to have, and times I'd want it gone lol.

My neighbor has an old ford fire rescue truck. His is set up that way. Apparently someone at the firehouse was so irritated by the sound that they had it put on a toggle.

Well if it makes you feel any better it had been pouring rain so most of it came off

But still! I usually peer pressure my friends into this and just watch from the side

That's WAY more fun. Just be willing to hold their beer for them.
