Bolted up my new trailer hitch in an attempt to go pickup a 91 f350 crew cab dually. Still need to wire up the brake controller. Hitch is a Curt class V 16,000lbs with a Gen-Y 16,000lbs tri ball, Curt brake controller. Going to be routing all of my wiring through a blue sea systems 6 blade fuse block. Not sure if any of you have ever used a blue sea fuse block but they are head and shoulders above any others that I have seen. Also - mounted up my PSD front bumper, although mounts are crooked and need adjusting.

After work went to change glow plugs and install new controller. 3 swelled , wellmans. 8 starts on them, so obviously not even good for emergency use.
Got 2 out ,1 to go, going to try the run engine method. More tomorrow.

Finally got the zf5 installed into my '91 F350 4x4 cab & chassis. It actually runs and drives now for the first time in 4 years. It wouldn't start due to a single bad glow plug :)

It's a short wheelbase. Perfect for plowing snow. Too bad I don't live in snow country :(

The new SMF is a noise maker.

Sometimes I think I should have converted my CC 2wd to 4wd.

I actually worked on it today. New return line kit installed, and batteries charged up. Now it starts like it should. Going to swap in a 7.3 filter head so I have a water separator as I had to bypass the stock one. Its been almost a year since I started it last.

Made a crude wooden mount for my oil bypass and coolant filters and cleaned up some stuff. Also installed a mechanical oil pressure gauge in the engine bay and at hot idle at 600 rpm I have 11-12 pounds of oil pressure. 800 rpm and it's up to 17-18.

Also got bored and found a nice mounting location for my bypass filter on "Fred" in my signature. Just gotta get my hoses and stuff in from jegs this coming week and I can install it along with my Donaldson full flow filter in place of the fla-1 on that truck. With such low miles on that engine and the super clean easy driving it does with all this stuff it's gonna be pretty and functional.

I wish my motor was that clean! One day I'll be able to pull it to change all the gaskets and paint it up

So last week I got time to install all new glow plugs and a used IH controller. And what do you know, starts right up in this cold we are having, low 20's, teens.
And if I unhook one GP, the controller short cycles, with 2 in just blinks a second, so just some observing info.

Installed a new lift pump, with new rubber fuel hose from the hard line to the pump and a new olive on the hard line at the filter head. Got a good pump from the local IH Dealer. No autozone junk here!

Also installed new 2/0 and 3/0 battery cables from custombatterycables.com. Had to shape the eyelet at the starter with a ****-wheel but otherwise they fit well. Still has a bit of a slow crank, I guess that original starter is getting old. Don't know if I should rebuild it or replace it.

Crawling around under the truck, looks like the PS pump, lines and box are all coated in PS fluid. Looks like the pressure line is leaking the most, so I guess I'll start there. If it needs a pump and a box, I'll go to PSC for those.

Finished off my battery cable upgrade with a new auxiliary fuse panel for my accessories. It's attached to the factory fuse panel cover with some HD velcro, and there's enough slack in the wires to easily move it out of the way to access the factory fuses.
