I'm definitely going to give it a shot. What ratio do you use?
If you run it in the tank 40% kerosene to 60% diesel, then an ounce per gallon of 2cycle oil,MMO, or whatever treatment you like best. If you are just filling the filter, then you fill it up halfway with kerosene and the other half with the treatment you choose..
The kerosene will give the entire fuel system a deep clean and of course the treatment/lubes should make it run better.
Running it through the tank gives the best cleaning/lube, and gives the mix longer to do its magic.

I have put a few thousand miles on it with the rough idle , trying all sorts of cocktails.. Nothing seemed to help at all. So I finally had the time to swap injector pumps and she's finally running right! I'm so glad to have that fixed , it really bugged me. :) :peelout

Has anyone else had fitment issues with the glow shift pillar pod? I bought the 4 gauge one.. The color isn't even close to matching and the fitment is absolutely horrible! I'm sending it back on Monday. It is pretty disappointing. I'm tired of having gauges laying on the trans tunnel , I need to get them mounted somewhere. I think what I am going to do is fab up a security center console , so that we don't have to pack the wife's purse and everything else with us when we go to the lake , fair , etc. The dash end will house the gauges. Has anyone done something similar? I would love to see pics!

I am running a Glow Shift three gauge A pillar mount. I knew before hand that there isn't one for my Bull Nose truck. I ordered black one (and didn't worry about matching the colors) for a OBS truck and cut off the upper and lower parts so that only the straight section with the gauge mounts is left. I used some screw to mount it to the existing trim. I though that it's more important to have easily visible gauges than it looking clean and neat. The truck itself isn't clean or neat looking. I'm a function over form type of person. I figure that if I want a clean, neat looking truck, I'll go buy a pretty new one. Here's a couple of pictures so you can get an idea of what it looks like.

I got a little creative with two gauges.
I used some ammo boxes welded together for a locking console and a cup holder in my jeep. I don't have any pictures to share.

I definitely agree with that , but I also have OCD and some things just can't be ignored. Also , even though the truck is older and not perfect I still want to keep it as nice as possible. The fitment wasn't even close. It had to be tweaked and pushed really hard to even line it up , and there were HUGE gaps all along it. For now , I will just keep peeking at the gauges on the trans tunnel. It looks like yours turned out well. I just don't feel like hacking up something that was supposed to fit , especially since the color is way off.

Got it in black then went down to Home Depot and found a rattle can as close to the color in a paint that works with plastic. I was pretty happy with how it turned out. A little work with a heat gun helps with the fit. Im working on some pics

That's a good idea , I may see if I can get a better fit with a heat gun.

I realized I won't have time for awhile to build a center console / gauge mount so I pulled the glowshift pillar pod back out of the box and tried to make it work. It still fits like crap , but is a bit better after some heat from the heat gun. I realized my boost line is too short , and I want to pick up a mechanical coolant gauge tomorrow. I have an autometer one hooked up now but it is too large for the pod. I installed a trans temp gauge. The banks exhaust left no room for the probe in the spot typically used , so I picked up a T and mounted it inline with the front trans line just before the cooler. I figured that would be the most accurate location for it anyway. I plan on wrapping it up tomorrow and will post some pics :) .

Well here is the current temporary setup. Unfortunately the sender wire on the new coolant temp gauge is not long enough... So I will just keep the other one installed for now. The gauges from the bottom of pod up are boost , EGT , oil pressure , coolant temp. The one on the column is the installed coolant temp. And the one to the far right is the trans temp. Today it was about 85* ... The trans temp crept up around 200* while sitting in heavy traffic. Once I started moving it dropped down to about 170. I'm sure my numbers will seem a little higher than most because of the location of the probe ... But seeing it that high worried me a bit. I am definitely considering adding a large trans cooler.

We were just headed out for a little family road trip and didn't even make it out of our driveway. We were driving along and suddenly heard the sound of pressure being released. We immediately smelled a funky smell that filled the cab. I pulled over and had my wife and son get out since I didn't know what it was. After some tinkering I figured it out. The coolant temp gauge was a gas filled type gauge. The bourdon tube sprung a leak and filled the cab with whatever gas it was filled with. What I don't understand is.. They are typically filled with nitrogen , helium or argon , all of which are odorless..?? Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

The capillary tube is normally filled with an alcohol. It’s low boiling point is what makes it sensitive. As it gets hotter, more of it boils, creating more vapor pressure in the bourdon tube and moving the needle. You probably weren’t in any danger, but having everyone get out of the truck is certainly the safest call if you’re not sure what’s going on.
