Since the "high pressure soap" didn't have any soap, it didn't remove all of the tree yuck or the oil

Ours are pathetic even when they have soap! Gets the loose stuff off but you can still run your finger across it and pull off a little more.

In this picture, the driver's side mirror is tilted funny because it's loose. Well I learned something today. With this style of mirrors, you can tighten them up by tightening the three screws on the bottom side surrounding the pivot ball. Now either I discovered something really cool, or I'm way behind the game and should have known this a long time ago. I have no idea which one it is.LOL

That could be true, if there were a picture to reference :p

I always wondered about that, could have come in handy before I got rid of my loose ones!

Well darn it anyway! Sorry I got busy and forgot to post it. I've replaced them when they got loose too. I pulled the mirror part out of the housing on an old one and experimented with it. It didn't take long to figure it out.

Yeah it's a lot easier to fix things when you can actually see how they work! Some people can't understand that, maybe I'm just weird... Ok I'm weird anyway, but you know what I mean :D

Made the ol mule work for his keep today. Definitely glad I have my Dually for most of my hauling though, got a little squirrley. Not bad, just not as stable as the other truck. Definitely glad it had the turbo, but you can still feel the higher gearing. Need to get on the dually project soon!

Dropped the engine in. Also built a little fuel pressure manifold.

Dump run with the offspring to break in the new seats. Also, TIL my kids like Mötley Crüe. This should go over well with the wife.

I finally got my truck back to looking like a truck. Really bummed I didn’t get to drive her home because I won’t get to do anything to it until Friday. But I guess that’s how it goes. I got all the wiring back together and tried my best to organize it all. I re-loomed everything, even though it’s not show quality it is way better than when I got it.

Off subject, but still relates. My latest favorite quote is from my July Colorado trip. One of the Cummins drivers asked how my old IDI handled the high elevation. I told him that it was slow, but it would be better with a turbo. Then I said that it's just a balancing act between watching the pyro and watching the tailpipe for black smoke. He smarted off and said" Oh EGTs are just a number". My reply was "True. So is the temperature that aluminum starts to melt at". That ended that smart a** comments from him.
