2019 Rally Convoy

Ya'll are passing within a mile of my place on I-81. Exit 150 in Virginia just north of Roanoke. I'll join up as you come through if that's alright?

You don't want to fill up there however as even though there are a couple stations, one of which is a Pilot, they recently ruined the traffic flow through there with a too small roundabout.

Do you you have a CB in your truck? You can PM Alex or myself your phone number and we can call you as we are rolling by if you want. Not sure what time it will be yet. Haven’t got that far. if we do a fuel stop around Harrisonburg, we will just be getting back on the road. I suspect food will be involved at that fuel stop although it will depend on what time we leave. Harrisonburg is around 2.5-3 hrs from home about 150 ish miles. I don’t know if I’ll be hunting fuel by then but I’ll be starting to think about it with my stellar 10mpg towing economy. Depends on how hard a time I have trying to keep up with Alex. [emoji6]

My map says 4 hrs to Roanoke. Might be a good place to stop for lunch if there’s a place around there or Blacksburg. Just thinking out loud. All depends on notional start times I guess.

I gotta sit down this weekend and really start mapping stuff out. Heck we are only a little over a week away! I'd be ok with meeting up with you there @Dirtleg. We will just have to iron out the particulars a little later. I figured once we know who all is in the convoy we can iron out contact information, ect. Shoot, I better make sure my cb works yet! Lol!

If I didn't have a literal interior project to finish on my truck before the rally I'd add a CB. Just don't think I have time to. If that changes I'll get one in the truck prior to. Makes sense for the drive down.

Jill is talking about heading out the Friday before and doing half the trip again......we will see. if that happens we will be way ahead of the rest of you guys unless something happens

depending on weather i might be wishing for a nice generator to keep the AC on like Mikes if we pull in a truck stop or something overnight.

@subway That's no problem, and I can understand why she would want to break up the trip. Like I said before we can always meet up with you guys down the line or even just meet you at the campground. Just curious how much amperage does your ac unit pull? I have my diesel generator (if I fix it with the capacitor I have first) or my gas generator that I've been trying to sell that you are more than welcome to borrow for the trip. They are a bit loud, but would get the job done most likely. Just let me know.

Yeah finding something at a campground on 7/5 may be challenging by now. It’s about an 8 hr trip. If you spread it out with stops it’s not horrible to do in a day but I understand the other side too.

Wife has decided she wants her car while we are there so she’s going to follow-ish. If someone needs out of a cramped vehicle, it’ll just be me and Sam in the truck probably.

My check in is Saturday. Looks like I'm going to be hitting 81S in Roanoke. Not sure how and when I may meet up but I'm game. Keyara and myself are taking two trucks as we have 3 kids and 3 dogs coming along.

Leaving Hagerstown Frederick (MD) area on Sunday morning. We are planning on going to Liberty KY to meet my cousin then head to the rally Tuesday Morning. Its very possible we can travel with a convoy for part of the way. Will have to look at the map. Returning Sunday to Hagerstown from the rally.

We will probably catch you on the return trip would be my guess unless you are going to the extreme SE tip of KY. We are coming back Sunday as well. I think Alex is coming back Saturday.

the weather is looking ****** for the weekend so might end up joining yall. i gotta read through everything to catch up.

unless something changes with my ford ill probably be in the dodge. i can fit 3 and will have 3 but not sure how comfortable that will be for 14 hours.

I was just about to ask what time everyone wanted to be at the campground. I was kinda thinking 3pm ish? What do you all think? Check-in is anytime after noon. Yep, I'll be heading back home Saturday July 13th.
