When you start playing with aftermarket parts, be prepared to have to modify stuff to get it to work.

My guess, like stated before, is the RD return rails aren't allowing you to get the fuel line to clamp correctly. I'd probably end up taking the fuel line nut to a grinder and taking some material off, to see if it would seat the line better.

Good luck.

I started being very careful of dirt dust and debris entering injectors years ago as I began to notice the number of “defective” new injectors some mechanics had compared to others. I clean the engine, underneath side of the hood, my clothes and hat before starting.

Another trick I use often is to loosen the leaking line while the engine is running let it spray a bit then retighten. This sometimes fixes lines that insist on sweating. As a last resort especially on an engine I could not get lines for (GMC Toro Flow) I went so far as to use an old injector and fine valve lapping compound to lap the seat on the tip of the line.
I agree with Wes x10 on the cleanliness!!! You would think I’m preparing for human surgery when I get ready to open up an injection system or assemble one.

And there is like 3 people left in the world that know what a ToroFlow is.LOL

Pensacola and warranty is not 2 words that will EVER be happy together. The denied on a pump the owner turned up. Because Hey that will ruin it every time. IMO they are just thieves.
I dealt with them while working in Miami. Had some perkins injectors from them that were never taken apart, just buffed and shipped.

I kinda liked them! We had 4 garbage trucks with them, everyone said they were junk. After I learned and built them, they would last 4 years daily routes running 10 hours a day.
Couldn’t get past the cold smoke though, I think that came from the 5 1/8 bore.

We had a local trucking co. here that had a dozen of them, their mechanic was instrumental in me being a diesel guy. And his assesment was the bore causing the smoke also. No power ,never broken he always said.

Had a friend that had a turbo’d 478 Toro Flow in his race car hauler. He always kept spare head gaskets in the rig.
I bet the 351 Toro Flow (even more rare) would have been great in a half ton.

All of these were 351's in single screw locals.
Now, another friend of mine that just passed a couple years ago had a 65 GMC with a ported and polished, balanced cammed 305V6 . That thing would run with a big block. I personally put many miles on it. Guzzled fuel like a 460. Then I put a ford 2 bbl off a 400 on it and the mileage went up and it still had power, due to the power valve, which the old carter didnt have . I miss that truck, and that friend.

Wouldn’t it be fun to put a 478 gas V6 together the same way for a pickup. Bolt right in I believe. Better have a drivetrain that can handle 1,000 ft lbs!

I am curious about a couple of things.

Could it be the hex are contacting your return rails and not fully seating the line to the injector?

Could it be that there is powder coat on the mating surface causing an irregular contact pattern thus causing the leack?

Could it be the return line rails being kanted to one side or something???

JM7.3CW Eh!
