From Wikipedia:

"In the United States, the bit is equal to one eighth of a dollar or 12 1⁄2 cents. In the U.S., the "bit" as a designation for money dates from the colonial period, when the most common unit of currency used was the Spanish dollar, also known as "piece of eight", which was worth 8 Spanish silver reales. One eighth of a dollar or one silver real was one "bit"."

Speaking of gold, the price of gold closed at over $1311. USD/oz. today! The Fed is expected to lower banking reserve requirements, and that was the market's response.

I bet 2 bitts that aint factory

I have a disposable filter coming that will be going in until I clean that K&N. If I find ATS markings on that hold down piece, we will know that it is.

Man, that K&N air filter is beyond dirty. I grabbed a NOS one on ebay this morning for $39 shipped, less than half of new retail price ($90).

The cheap paper one didn't really fit into the aluminum hold down but I forced it in. The accelerator feels more responsive (in P) now.

I got the new vacuum pump installed but look at the wrong, undersized belt I found on it (alt to vac). Its supposed to have the 6330 (the one in the package here) but it had a 6320. The things people do.

The brake pedal still doesn't feel quite right. The booster check valve seems a bit bad, hard to suck air through it vs the newer one on my truck. I have another check valve around someplace (ugh) so I won't buy one just yet. It could be that the brakes or booster push rod are maladjusted from the shop trying to compensate for poor vacuum. It could also have a bad booster from the leaking master cylinder full of transmission fluid.

I didn't take it out on the road today though, so I'm not sure.

I need to get some 5/8" hose for the "CDR delete" that it ATS seems to have done. I cleaned up the area some. Bluuuue valve cover under all that filth.

I bought my air filters from rockauto.com. I think it’s a 74 911turbo filter. They’re not that expensive.

Yep. They're very hard to find, if not impossible, retail wise. O'Reilly only lists the K&N at $91.

I got the paper one from Ebay.

The problem is when I'm out on the road, unless I'm getting mail someplace, I'd rather have a washable filter. Now I'll have two washable K&Ns plus paper as an emergency backup. I can put in a clean, ready K&N and wash the other when I get the chance.

Oh yes, something else I discovered, the water separator has long ago run away. :(

I have one already a Racor filter/ws lying around that I can put on, I'll just have twice filtered fuel.
