Worst mpg thread

We've got a best mileage thread, how about a worse mileage thread?

I'll start...

Bucked a 90-100mph wind all the way up to our cabin this weekend. It sucked...... Burned 13 gallons to go 81 miles!! The state closed I-25 north of Wellington to the Wyoming line because of the wind.

All I had in tow was a 7x12' single axle utility trailer with 1 snowmobile on it. I got a whopping 6.23 mpg......

Sounds like the kinda mileage I would have got driving an IDI when I was in high school.

Geez, well I don't feel too bad now. My kid is hauling a trailer back from Prince George BC. using the '86 in the sig. He said he only got 248 kilometers on the rear tank. That is only about 8 mpg. It is a heavy trailer, and I found out later that half of the driving was around town hauling the trailer! He says it seems a little gutless, so I told him to advance the timing a little bit (2 degrees). We'll see tomorrow if the performance is better.

Yeah, I read the there was a gust recorded that was 126 mph....crazy hurricane winds.

We had a 50 mph tail wind coming home from the Black Hills on Thursday and I thought that was pretty windy!

The lowest I have on record is 12.4 mpg...that was shortly after I installed the turbo (and almost a year before I put the ZF5 in)...I think I was having a bit of binary-pedal syndrome (although, even after that kinda wore off, I only got about 13 mpg on average after adding the turbo and before swapping the ZF in).

Other than that period, even loaded heavy, I've never been able to get under 14

My personal lowest was 12.3 doing 80 hauling a crewcab. But my brother reported 8 with my military tires cruising around town. Its probably a bit better now that it has a turbo.

4.5mpg but that was in town with the original 300 that came in the truck right before the lower end blew apart going up a hill, as for the 7.3 im gettin about 12-15 goin the 8 miles back and forth to work

My worst was about 9.9mpg towing the boat. It included a lot of idling and probably was at least partially a result of the timing being way off.

I haven't gotten below 10 yet (10.5mpg worst). Unloaded I do pretty good on fuel but if I even hook up two place atv trailer its all over
