Will a missing turbo crossover pipe damage anything on a short trip?

Just picked up an old f250 extended cab 7.3 with a banks.

The crossover pipe is rotted completely off. my trailer really isn't made to haul a vehicle of this size.

About a 30 mile trip down the back roads to get it home.

Think I'll damage the turbo or valves by running it like that? I realize the thing will probably act like a restriction on both the exhaust and intake sides, but I don't intend to set any land speed records..... probably 30-35 mph drive.

cobbling a flex pipe in there for the ride home is the other option.

anyone run any distance with a bad crossover?

Try to Rig up some flex for now, then go into a exhaust shop and have them build you one.

What will hurt the most is your hearing. There will be nothing to spin the turbo so you wont have any turbo air being boosted into the intake and may have some oil loss because the turbine shaft is not spinning. Also there will be no heat on the shaft from the exhaust. Really never answered this question but I don't feel you will damage anything. What model of Banks turbo do you have. Do you have a large square air filter housing on top of the engine. If so you might have problems purchasing this cross over pipe from Banks but a muffler shop can make what you need.

I watched a guy with an IDI do a tractor pull event with one of his up pipes missing. Won't hurt anything, but it sure doesn't work good.

Thanks guys. Large square box,.. older style Banks. I ended up driving to a friends house a few miles away for now. I just didn't feel like a 150 tow bill and didn't have a warm fuzzy about leaving my new bucket of parts in some stranger's yard.

I couldn't see where it could hurt, but those are famous last words.... I appreciate the advice.
