I may be the guy to try this. I have alot of spares and I will not cry if something goes wrong. I have that turbo off the 7.8 New Holland. It is fresh and healthy. It is a To4e. That 7.8 made around 300hp, according to Ford. I have a few CACs to work with. I am thinking of running one of my offroad bumpers with a grill gaurd, deleting the grill, then installing the CAC behind the gaurd. I have a close friend with a Masterbender 3000 exhaust tubing bender in his shop. I am doing a custom freeflowing setup or nothin'.
I am thinking I should punch out my 6.9 block with some new, low compression pistons. But I want to find a set of good used turbo rods before I order the slugs. Who has a set of turbo rods?
I also will have to figure out if there is a big block H-beam rod that could be adapted to work in a 6.9. The rotating assembly is freaking heavy in these things. Parasitic losses in this engine are probably over 140 hp at 3000 rpm in an IDI. Anything you do to lighten the rods/pistons will show an increase in power.
When you say $2000, are you talking about just for the pump or for the related components to support the big fat fuel flow? Which pump would be most cost effective to Super Moose? Do you see any issues with breaking the pump shaft?
