Good luck with the truck...finding an Old hat wrench to work on these rigs can be tough...yet they are so simple....but kid wrenches now a days ...no computer scan port no can fix...the art of diagnosing and repairjng technicians... has gone to scan and replace parts jockeys

@O.P. - Does your truck have a turbo? If it does, does she smoke bad when on the throttle? If that's the case, your turbo might be dumping oil into your intake charge, which can make the truck run like a lame horse.

No , its pretty much stock 'cept the cooling system...got an aluminum radiator (1165 Champion) new pump , fan clutch etc..
1991 f-350 Supercab dually, rear air bags... new clutch, new Autolite glow plugs , new glow plug controller ..

Get rid of the autolite glow plugs. They fail and swell up. Some need to have the heads removed to get them out.

X2 Beru seem to be best bang for buck durability and long term use and minimal swelling...just installed 8 new beru today...1 took 20 plus minutes turning a wrench 1 flat at a time the whole way.

Add antiseize to gp threads too...not tips.
