a GOOD 093 or larger turbo and innercooler ARE A MUST!!!
i would also get the mark II injectors.
i ran a bull moose with the misters and a worn out turbo, EGT's spiked to 1250-1300 which cracked my head.
and stress cracked my pistons.
i will be running this pump again after i get my engine back together.
with a rebuilt 093 with a wicked wheel.
with a buncha performance parts i decided to get.
i did opt to ceramic coat the pistons.
the less heat to the compression rings the better.
keeps the aluminum alive!
i did not have studs on the last engine, and the headgaskets did just fine,
however i will be running them on the new engine.
im also thinking about getting a stud girdle.
now while normal driving with the set up mentioned above
i could keep up with a stock powerstroke in my crew, crew cab, short bed (stock CC LB frame) with 3.55's and a ZF5
if i drove conservatively, i would get a small puff of blackness out of my pipe when under a load (lower rpm's after shifting)
not bad at all, and nothing johnny law could complain about (less than the required 10 seconds)
BUT....
if i had the hammer down, running it hard, plumes of fuel can be seen behind me until i decided to let up.
so the answer is yes, it is a streetable pump, if youre running the required equipment.
but, you will be driving by pyro....
again, my pyro would only exceed recommended temps when i was well above the posted speedlimit which noone obeys.
stay below 1100*
or you will have a nice paperweight.
timed at 9.5*
