Id have used the French fries in the crank case for lubrication.....Had a total oil cooler failure in the McDonald’s drive threw at midnight, 2” trail of oil in the parkinglot and a foot wide puddle parked glad I check my mirrors 44$ a gallon oil at the gas station hurt. Never seen an engine loose that much oil hell I had an idi throw a rod and leaked less oil
My plow truck is a 94 explorer. There have been some years I have not fired it up at all. It always starts right up, these things are immortal haha. It's such a little monsterI didn't take any pictures. I had a friend help me move a non running truck from behind my garage to the front so I can start working on it. Then we went over to another guy's property to look at the 1994 Explorer that he's getting from him. The key switch was broken off at the inside end. It looks like ours and was broken right at the cross looking part of it. Some ham ****** ogre had tried to break it out. I looked at it and tried with a pair of needle nose pliers. It wasn't lined up with the brass half moon piece inside so I got a small flat tip screwdriver and managed to turn the brass piece and remove the broken piece. He stuck his new key switch inside and it turned. Naturally there was no battery so I got out my jumper cables. The starter turned over 3-4 times and the engine started. That's after sitting for 3 years! We were both amazed. He talked about going to buy a new battery so I told him that he should also get a can of Sea Foam and a bottle of Heet to dump in the tank. Better safe than sorry.
I use those travel trailer scissor jacks between my trailer wheels when loading/unpoading as well. My poor e brake can only handle so much and these utvs are SO JUMPY with the throttle!Nice truck, and wheel chocks? Safety first![]()
It's been a few years so it might be true anymore, but the last I knew, there was riding in the Pine Barrens area. Pennsylvania is probably better with a lot more miles of trails available. When I was I Iraq back in '04/5, one of the soldiers I worked with said that he was from Pennsylvania. He said that there was trails that went from town to town and you could ride for hundreds of miles. I assume that was in the mountains somwhere.I'm in NJ and our entire state is paved or has ryan homes on any forests remaining, so we have to drive 2 hours each way for trails.... To Pennsylvania coal country.
That area is a mess right now. if you look it up NJ is in trouble for closing a lot of the off road trails and misappropriating federal funds. There also seems to be a lot of hikers that put out stuff to pop tires. I live a few hours away so the hiker vs truck war all might just be media hype but I'm too chicken to try hahaIt's been a few years so it might be true anymore, but the last I knew, there was riding in the Pine Barrens area. Perfectly understandable. I can also see where people might do that. That type of a-hole likes to put string, rope, wire, etc. across OHV trails in Colorado. I haven't had any personal experience with that stuff, but I've heard about it.I live a few hours away so the hiker vs truck war all might just be media hype but I'm too chicken to try haha
Years ago, maybe 15, there were lots of packs of bikers flying around on rice burners up where I live because we have windy mountain roads. Well, some resident took issue with the situation and created and oil slick on a tight turn where guys liked to go fast and sure enough somebody wiped out pretty bad. Thankfully no fatality but charges were filed after an investigation. I've heard all kinds of stories about people hanging fishing line with hooks on it across trails and other stupid crap like that. There has to be a better way than laying traps like you're Wil E. Coyote, Super Geeenius.Perfectly understandable. I can also see where people might do that.
