Well, today's weather had me bring the old boy out of the barn to get to work. I covered about 45 miles of snow covered interstate in pretty crappy shape. Headed out at 2 this afternoon, with the slide offs everywhere it took till 3:45 to cover the 45 mile. That is the longest, and fastest for that matter, I have ran with the 4wd engaged since rebuild. Did it like a champ. Gave him some Diesel Treat for being good.

Earlier today I was in the Challenger on the freeway. It's awd so it gets around, but I passed a giant fluorescent green trash truck just as it, the trash truck, went into a full flat spin covering both southbound lane. Spooky stuff. That was a lot of spinning mass in my immediate vicinity. That is what convinced me to drive ol' Sulley in to work tonight

Probably a smart move. Way out here in Northwest Kansas, I think we might have had 1/2" of snow. A week ago, some forecasts were still calling for 6"-10". I didn't put much faith in those though.

I pressure wash mine, have Hotsy Hot water pressure washer.
Lot nicer to work on things when they are clean.
Do the Mercedes to keep her pretty and the tractor, and any
greasy treasure from PNP.

Sunday night jumped in the shower and had luke warm water. OH Great!!
Burner will not come on. Been in this place 11 years and don`t know how
old the Water heater is. Most likely the box that controls the pezo igniter.

Headed down to HD and bought a new water heater, and being Propane costs
more than if natural gas. Only had 2 in stock, a 40 and 50 gallon. We have a
50 but really don`t need one that large, unless you are taking a shower with
a friend to save water...LOL

So today it`s R&R the dang thing. $769.00 is rediculous for a water heater.
50 gallon is $100 more than a 40 gallon.

I'm now in the market to get a heated pressure washer...
I found mine on CL for $750, owned by a private owner. Had to drive to Hollister, Ca. from here in Nevada.
Then took it to the Hotsy dealer to have checked over. Needed a couple minor things taken care of.
New these are over $4500.
They recommend to use Kerosene rather than Diesel for the burner, burns cleaner.

Think my model is 555SS, bit pricer now, $5600.

They are NICE. You can clean up so many different things. Just be sure to hold the wand quite a way away if you're cleaning radiator fins.
We have a bada*s landa pressure washer that does 4GPM and 4000psi, 220°f burner on it.. That thing is sweet.

Employees aren't allowed to use it anymore due to a global policy coming out of no more working on your own stuff anymore. Super lame.

So what I did this evening is I went to home depot and bought the tiny Ryobi pressure washer that does 1.2gpm and 1900psi, tapped it to my water heater, and used it to clean the cylinder heads and exhaust manifold for my dads engine. Was definitely slower than the one at work, but 100% as effective. Heads and manifolds are super clean, ready for new valves to be slapped in.

It's supposed to rain a lot this weekend. I may or may not know a super cool guy whose gonna pressure wash the frame of this truck and get it super clean too, along with the E4OD, and tranafer case.... Its gonna be a busy weekend.

I bought a cheapo model. It does ok. I like to use something like Simple Green on parts before I wash them. It's not great, but it's better than nothing. I was given one with a gas powered Honda engine on it. I was told that it didn't run. I figure that if I can't make it run, then at least I won't be out any money when I haul it across the scale.

Rotated the tires, washed up the inside of the rims.
Front one`s sure get scroungy from the Brake Pad dust.
Every time I remove a wheel I always make sure to wash
the insides so crap doesn`t get caked on.

I have a NOS/OEM Brake Cable from the equalizer to the Brake peddle.
Found it on E-Bay, that`s going on soon. Peddle goes to the floor, think
maybe the end piece broke off. Replaced the R/R cable, and need to do
the L/R one. R/R was 1/2 way froze up, heck the truck is 39 yrs old.
All new Shoes and hard Ware on both sides. Peddle use to go down maybe
3 clicks, now to the floor.

Put a new Door Panel on it 3 or so years back with a new Arm Rest. As I
remember there is a bolt from the under side, and a screw from the top
down in the hand hold. Well it has been loose for a while....I`ll get to it,
been saying that for a while, the other night went to pull the door and the
Arm Rest pivited twords me. Dang screw fell out. Looks like the springy
Clip the screw goes into moved or fell out. ARGGG now need to pull the Panel
off....always something.....

Picked up another NOS/OEM Obsolete Wiper Motor off E-bay for the 80 - 86
trucks. Keep it on the shelf just incase I need one for the 85. Replaced the
one on the 86 last month, NOS/OEM. Can`t have too many spare parts on hand.

The Truck got over ruled by the old Maytag Washer, it developed a leak from the
under side. Iam thinking maybe the water Pump. Simple machine, built when
things were simple. Its Avocado Green, built in 1976. Simple, not over complicated,
like my old 86 6.9 4-spd.
