My truck lives!

Most do not know the trials I have had w/ my cross threaded injector. If you recall, I thought I had cross threaded the line nut on #7 when I replaced my caps. Well here is the injector. Not the best pic, but the injector was cross threaded, not the line nut. I discovered this after removing the line! Just before our wonderful snow fall, I headed to Moose Valley to get a spare injector. Due to weather and dead batteries, I did not get to see if my repairs held up. I finally got home tonight and she fired up and was dry! Thanks to Mel and EZ for their assistance and to anyone else that had to listen to me ***** and complain these past 4 weeks!

Tim,
I had no fuel related problems until I broke a return replacing my tranny dipstick tube.

Tranny dipstick and tube from dealer - $35.00
Cost to install after you break all kinds of **** - priceless!

With Mel as my witness! Let's put it this way, my $55 Ford dealer sourced #7 line is sitting in the cabinet w/ my cross threaded injector. My factory original line is on the truck! Mel, EZ, Steph, and squirreltow had to hear my because I removed the line assuming it was the nut. Got the line out (after buying a new one) and realized it was fine.

The PO had the injectors tested @92K, I bought it at 107K and she has 125K on her now. I assume it was cross threaded before I touched it.

Actually, I believe it. If you saw the way it was cross threaded, the damage extended all the way to the bottom. Whoever put it on that way, made extra sure that it was going to seal. I remember Joe showing me in his maintanance records from the previous owner, that all or some of the O-rings were replaced to solve a leak. I think whoever did that work is at fault. The injector was definitely original, as was the line.

And yes I can now verify that it still is dry with no leaking from the injectors after you driving it to work.
